Crew member

We are currently hiring crew members for the 2025 season. This position is primarily for our Install Crew although we are a small company and there is occasional crossover between the install and garden maintenance crew.

Each day involves a variety of tasks working outside. This requires candidates to be comfortable working in all weather conditions and have the stamina for challenging physical labor (must be able to lift 50-60 lbs and kneel or squat repeatedly). Transportation and a driver’s license/clean driving record are required. Start date is mid April and the season goes through late October/early Nov depending on weather. Working as a team and the ability to work hard and have fun is important to us.

While we prefer for candidates be available from early April through late October we have some flexibility on season start and finish dates.

We are looking to hire crew members that have previous landscape field work experience.   Some of the daily work includes:

  • Loading vehicles and driving to-site.
  • Installation of our designs including removal of vegetation and demo work, grading/moving soil, building with hardscape/softscape materials, creating raingardens, and planting.  We install a variety of hardscape projects ranging from paver patios and paths and custom wood construction.
  • Using landscape/construction tools, both hand tools and power tools – experience operating a dingo/bob-cat a plus; willingness to learn equipment is a part of this job
  • We move heavy materials including small boulders, gravel, and BB trees on a daily basis
  • Plant identification knowledge- MN natives and invasives identification a plus.
  • Experience driving a trailer and/or dump truck desired but not a requirement; willingness to learn is a part of this job
  • Working with fellow team members!  We encourage comaraderie and try to have a good time out there.

Let us know if you have a special skillset — woodworking, sculpture, etc.

We value punctuality and dependability.  One requirement is the ability to talk and work at the same time!  We love working as a team and sharing stories all season, but work the shovel as you talk please!

Hourly wage is $18-$22 depending on experience and position.
